Vacancy: Marketing Specialist

Introduction:

Our client, a nature reserve just outside Bela-Bela in Limpopo, is seeking a proactive and self-motivated Marketing Specialist to drive their marketing efforts. This hybrid role requires at least three days per week on-site, with flexibility to work remotely on other days. The role focuses on building client relationships, promoting events and offerings, and increasing the reserve's visibility across tourism, events, and education sectors. Regular travel to meet clients and attend events is required, making it perfect for someone who thrives on action and engagement.

 

Job Purpose:

The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance the nature reserve’s visibility and engagement with key client sectors, including tourism, education, and events. The Marketing Specialist will also work closely with external agencies to implement campaigns and track their effectiveness. By combining on-the-ground engagement with strategic planning, the Marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in driving the reserve's growth and establishing it as a leading destination for both leisure and business clients.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education:

  • National Senior Certificate
  • A diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications or related field will be beneficial


Minimum applicable experience:

  • 3-5 Years Experience

Required nature of experience:

  • Client relationship building and external meetings
  • Marketing campaign coordination and execution
  • Developing sales strategies and special offerings
  • Experience in tourism, hospitality, or event industries will be advantageous


Skills and Knowledge (essential):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong planning and organisational abilities
  • Confident presenter and networker
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general marketing tools


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market analysis and develop targeted marketing and sales strategies to drive business growth
  • Liaise with a social media marketing company to align campaigns and enhance the reserve's online presence
  • Create and execute direct marketing campaigns to engage both existing and potential clients
  • Source new clients and build long-term relationships with schools, corporates, and event organisers
  • Develop tailored offerings for target markets, including special promotions for events and weekend packages
  • Coordinate and manage advertising materials, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels
  • Plan and schedule marketing campaigns, including event promotions and seasonal drives
  • Attend meetings with potential clients, particularly for conferences, school partnerships, and academy marketing
  • Track and evaluate the success of marketing efforts, making adjustments as needed for optimal impact 

Other:

  • Proficient in Afrikaans and English
  • Own reliable transport and valid driver’s licence
  • Willing and able to travel frequently
